GU X Recouture

Every piece carries a story, and this vest is no exception. Crafted entirely from existing resources, it blends tradition, craftsmanship, and modern functionality into a unique garment designed to last.

The main fabric is a second-grade Herringdal wool blend from Gudbrandsdalen Uldvare, paired with a second-hand Norwegian Kloster-stitch Åkle, ensuring both authenticity and character. The inner neck is lined with deadstock cashmere pile, adding warmth and luxurious softness. Adjustable Velcro side straps provide a customizable fit, while the small front pocket is adorned with a 925 oxidized silver button from Øvrebø Smykkeverksted, inspired by a Jølster Åkle.

This collection has been a collaborative project with Moving Mamas, expertly sewn by talented women in Jevnaker. Each vest is a testament to the beauty of reuse, where every element comes from materials that already exist.
