With love for the past and a vision for the future.

Recouture by Hilde Hoff is a redesign and sewing studio located just outside Oslo, in Hadeland. What started as a journey with custom redesign on request and upcycling of personal outdoor gear has grown into a broader mission —to rescue more garments and textile waste from disposal and give them a second chance.

Let's redefine the future of fashion, —one stitch at a time.

Showroom / Shop / Office

The Recouture showroom and shop are located at the same address — a curated space where customers can explore unique redesign pieces and learn about the brand’s mission. This area also functions as an office and meeting space. It’s a small, welcoming hub for visitors, collaborators, and customers who want to connect with the values of sustainability, craftsmanship, and innovation.

Hilde Hoff Sewing Studio

At the heart of Hadeland, you’ll find the Hilde Hoff sewing studio — a vibrant and creative space where design, craftsmanship, and innovation meet. With 20 years of experience in the Norwegian sportswear industry, Hilde combines creative vision with practical know-how. Her background laid the foundation for Recouture – a high-end, forward-thinking redesign brand launched in 2023.

Recouture LAB – Innovative Studio

The Recouture LAB — a dedicated corner within the studio — is the brand’s experimental and developmental space. Here, Hilde and her team experiment with redesign techniques and explore innovative approaches to textile waste. Norwegian textile heritage is central to the LAB’s work, where old craft traditions are reinterpreted through a modern, sustainable lens. It’s a creative playground that promotes circular thinking in fashion and design.

RE-fabrikken – Micro-Factory

RE-fabrikken is Recouture’s micro-factory — a 50 m² hands-on production space where small-scale manufacturing meets craftsmanship. This is where Sana, a skilled seamstress who also works at Grinakervev, leads the production with a steady hand and years of experience. She’s joined by Iryna, an experienced tailor from Ukraine who is currently part of a language practice program through NAV, improving her Norwegian each day. Working together in this environment creates valuable opportunities to share knowledge and learn from each other’s cultural and professional backgrounds. In this space, old garments, returns, and textile waste are redesigned into unique, high-quality products — rooted in sustainability, Norwegian heritage, and storytelling.

2025

In 2025, RE-fabrikken aims to grow into a full-scale circular production center. This vision is supported by Doga, Handelens Miljøfond, and the the local Sparebank1 Næringsstiftelse. RE-fabrikken stands out for its circular model. Together with brands like Norrøna, surplus textiles are turned into new, unique, high-quality products. Local partners like Grinakervev help preserve traditional techniques, while cooperation with NAV and Refugee Services creates inclusive jobs for women with multicultural backgrounds.

We believe this is a small but meaningful step toward a greener, more inclusive textile industry.

About

Hilde Hoff Nordskar is an educated designer from Esmod Oslo with extensive experience in the Norwegian sports industry. With an 18-year background in conventional design, she is now dedicated to slowing down and on a mission to make overconsumption a thing of the past. Her passion for the combination of good craftsmanship and local traditions comes from her mother and grandmother. She wants to bring old Norwegian traditions back to life by upcycling products that have a history and make you feel in love with what you wear.

“We need to change the way we consume and see the value in what we already have. The wonderful feeling of owning a product that truly matters to you, has a story, and you know you'll enjoy for many years to come”

Hilde, Founder Recouture.

Traditions

We use a variety of traditional Norwegian patterned woven carpets handmade in the 1900s in our design. The patterns are originated from different areas, all with different weaving techniques.

Recouture is proud to incorporate the patterns and motifs of Norwegian handcraft into our work, creating one-of-a-kind contemporary garments of this traditional textile.

We hope this will help to keep the tradition alive and ensure that handcraft remains an important part of Norway's cultural heritage.

Redesign and upcycled clothes. Values we care about.

  • Redesign and upcycling old clothes reduce textile waste and lower the environmental impact of fashion. By reusing and repurposing materials, it reduces the need for new resources and decreases the carbon footprint of the fashion industry.

  • Redesigned and upcycled clothes offer unique one-of-a-kind designs that can't be found in traditional retail stores. Clothes can be redesigned in a way that gives them a new life, adding creativity, and individuality to each garment. How unique is that?

  • Redesigned and upcycled clothes are probably more expensive compared to investing in a new fast fashion item. But, considering that you give your favorites a new life, reducing textile waste and lower the environmental impact with your fashion choices, it may be worth it ?

  • With redesign and upcycling of clothes, we have the opportunity to customize clothes to suit every individually body and unique style preference. Our bodys are not equal to a conventional size guide, right ?

  • We source all of our materials locally and from online marketplaces in Norway. We use waste and deadstock from the fashion industry. We belive this is the way to become circular in the textile industry.

We love that you choose Redesign by Recouture.
