How it works!
If you have a product hanging in your closet that you no longer use because you've grown tired of it, the size is a bit off, or it needs a small repair, we can help. We collect Norwegian åkler, which we use in our redesigns, and we have a large stock that we would love to share with you so that you can create your very own recouture åkle product. If you have inherited an åkle that holds sentimental value, but you don't want it hanging on the wall, you can send it along with your jacket. This way, you'll have your very own personal story and perhaps a memory of someone who means a lot to you. Send us an inquiry at hei@recouture.no with a picture of your jacket, and we'll get back to you with suggestions before the design process begins. See examples of prices below.
Let's redefine the future of fashion, —one stitch at a time.

Imagine products being discarded because repair costs are too high—returns, manufacturing defects, or surplus stock, all too common.
What if these were reborn as entirely new items?

Seeds of Hope
I grew up on a farm where we had pigs, grains, and some vegetables. When I had my own children and no longer lived on the farm, it became important to me to teach them about local harvesting. That's why we have joined the local CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) for the last 8 years. Eating locally produced and in-season food is good for both people, health and the environment. And, contributes to preserving arable land. Therefore, Recouture will support the 'Seeds of Hope' program by giving $20 per sold item. Our donation provides low-income families in Nepal with a bag of kitchen garden seeds, training by an agriculture expert, and a greenhouse tunnel. This eventually makes them self-sufficient in food, and when the harvests are substantial enough, they can begin selling to others. This is a commitment to invest in local grassroots-level to build more climate-resilient food systems. The program specifically helps empower women to find independence and enables them to provide education for their children. We are glad to support @thesmallworld founded by Sonam & Karma Sherpa.
